Sweet Rain

Even though I try,
I can't help but cry
When I think of you.
I've been so blue!

Can it be I've lost my edge?
I feel like I'm on a ledge
And have no where to go.
How is it I've stooped this low?

My heart has grown black
And there's no turning back.
I've cursed your name,
But only I'm to blame.

Sweet rain falls all around me,
But my eyes do not see.
Can I get past the hatred inside?
How much longer can I hide?

Forever more in this sadness,
I've grown used to the madness.
What can heal this heart of mine?
When will it be my time to shine?

Can it be that what I've lived for
Was a lie and will be no more?
My hopes were washed away
And I don't want to live another day!

A bitter memory fills my heart
And I know then that I must part.
But Maybe I like sitting in grief,
Even if it's ever so brief.

Sweet rain falls all around me,
But my eyes do not see.
I can't see the love.
Will I ever rise above?
